The five year DfID-funded SAMARTH-NMDP programme is focused on rural market development covering a range of sectors including tourism. There is a need to obtain a better understanding of tourism trends and ensure that Nepal is providing the right products for the right markets.
To this end, Tourism Development International has been appointed by SAMARTH-NMDP to undertake an Assessment of Three Tourism Trends Impacting on Nepal's Tourism Sector. The aim of the research will be to provide an insight into the characteristics of (1) the South East Asian outbound market, (2) the domestic tourism market in Nepal, and (3) global tourism trends in active/hiking tourism.
