Client: Dun Laoghaire Rathdown Tourism Ltd, Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council
In 2007, Dun Laoghaire Rathdown Tourism, in association with Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council, commissioned Tourism Development International to prepare a Tourism Master Plan for the County.
In undertaking the situation analysis for this assignment, TDI concluded that Dun Laoghaire Rathdown area currently lacked a clear identity and image. To develop as a tourism destination, it must signal its appeal with credible brand image which would facilitate a clear market positioning.
Product development opportunities were also identified with a particular focus on the county's maritime setting and heritage. A range of measures designed to enhance the quality of the environment were also identified.
